Dear Parents,
Arabic and Islamic Week -Attached please find the flyer for Arabic and Islamic Week where students will gain knowledge and information about the important facts on UAE and how it is our home away from home. KG 1and KG2 will participate in an inter class quiz based on all the information they have learnt so far during their Circle Time.
KG2 Arabic Assembly : Keeping this in mind, the KG2 students would like to invite you for their Arabic assembly on Sunday, 5th June 2016, in the new Multi-Purpose Hall at 8:40 am. Each class has worked hard along with the Homeroom Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Arabic teacher, dance and music teachers to put up an item as an end product to what they’ve learned so far in class.
Coding : Going ahead – we have introduced Coding as a subject for KG 2 students. Coding is an essential skill for children of the 21st century, and the curriculum is designed to develop the areas of problem-solving and critical thinking. Children will be exposed to the basic logic of programming and have an opportunity to experiment with creating their own code to solve problems and build creative programs. This experience will help introduce students to creative coding and provide them with foundational skills that they can build upon to become future web-creators and designers of innovative technologies. The students will work collaboratively with tablets and iPads and the devices will be maintained in school. We are very excited about this new addition to the curriculum and hope to share student-created programs with you, in the near future.
GNMS Innofest 2016 - By now, you would have received the invitation to 'Innofest' where we will be showcasing the children's innovations as well as their innovative learning. Do stop by the Discovery Room and have a look at the opportunities provided during Coding, Genius Hour and Science Experiments, which give children an opportunity to let their creative juices flow and think out of the box.
Parent Consultation Meeting : We look forward to meeting you on Saturday, 4th June 2016 for the Parent Consultation Meeting, as per the time slot given by the Homeroom Teacher.
Unit 1 Results : You can view the Unit 1 results that were uploaded today through your login ID’s on My Learning. However, students with any fee pending above AED 100/- will not be able to access the reports.
Now that Unit 2 has begun, I’d like to inform you that the students will have their continuous assessments. These are ongoing, so kindly avoid taking leave for early travel.
We appreciate the fact that you continue to check circulars, notes in the school diary and on GLG. This in turn ensures that your child does not miss out on anything.
World Environment Day : KG2 C will conduct a class assembly for KG2 on Sunday, 5th June to celebrate ‘World Environment Day’. They will raise awareness about the importance of keeping the environment green and healthy. KG1 C will conduct their class assembly on the environment on Tuesday 7th June. All KG 1 and KG 2 children can come dressed in green on Tuesday, 7th June to pledge to do their best for the environment. A variety of activities have been planned where all children and staff will participate to celebrate and to do their bit to take care of the Earth. More details will follow in the next Communique.
Have a great weekend!
